Concussion

Everyday I thank God that I'm healthy.

Brad Bohrer had a concussion 11 years ago playing football but the
doctors misdiagnosed him. The following Friday he got hit again giving
him another concussion and subdural hematoma. He has been in a
wheelchair ever since unable to move, talk, or do anything himself.

Gift for the Blind

since being promoted at the herald to photo editor i haven't been shooting as much. which makes me a little sad. it's hard giving out all the daily assignments to the photographers and not really being able to include myself because of managerial stuff. but other than that, so far so good.

i gave myself this assignment a couple weeks ago because i was really needing to shoot something besides food in the studio. a 14-year-old girl was getting a closed-caption tv for her home so she could finally read and do her homework at home. the tv magnifies the words so that she can see them.

what i found when i arrived was this nice moment between Jessica Sargent, who is blind, and her best friend. Jessica asked her best friend to read to her and so she did.

this is why i love my job.
